Cancellation Policy

This EasyGig Cancellation Policy (the “Cancellation Policy”) sets forth the terms and conditions for Hauling Services cancellations and forms part of the Terms. By using the Platform, you agree to be bound by this Cancellation Policy.
Possessor Cancellations
If you no longer need the Hauling Services, you can cancel the Hauling Services through the Platform. A cancellation fee may apply in certain circumstances, as outlined below.
- Free Cancellation Window. Possessors can cancel scheduled Hauling Services for no charge up to twenty-four (24) hours before the beginning of the scheduled pickup window. For example, for a pickup window between 7 a.m. – 12 p.m., the Hauling Services must be cancelled before 7 a.m. the day before, or Possessor may incur a cancellation fee.
- Late Cancellations. Cancellations made within twenty-four (24) hours of the beginning of the scheduled pickup window will be charged a 50% cancellation fee.
- Possessor No-Show. If Possessor’s items are not accessible to the Hauler upon Hauler’s arrival at the scheduled location, or if the items violate the Terms (for example, if the items are Prohibited Items, this will be treated as a “Possessor No-Show,” and Possessor will be charged the full booking amount.
- Rescheduling. Possessors may reschedule Hauling Services at no charge at least six (6) hours before the beginning of the scheduled pickup window. Rescheduling less than six (6) hours in advance will be treated as a late cancellation and will be subject to the 50% cancellation fee.
Hauler Cancellations
As an independent contractor, Haulers have the right to choose whether to accept engagements for the Hauling Services and whether and when to cancel those engagements. EasyGig reserves the right, however, to charge a cancellation fee or limit a Hauler’s access to the Platform under certain circumstances, as outlined below.
- Emergency/Early Cancellation. Haulers may cancel a booking up to twenty-four (24) hours before the beginning of the scheduled pickup window without penalty; provided, however, that if EasyGig believes a Hauler’s number of cancellations is excessive or believes that the Platform is being abused, EasyGig reserves the right to limit the Hauler’s access to the Platform. Cancelled Hauling Services may be re-listed to the Platform and may be accepted by other Haulers.
- Late Cancellations. Cancellations made within twenty-four (24) hours of the beginning of the scheduled pickup window will incur a cancellation fee equal to 15% of the job total.
- Last-Minute Cancellations. Cancellations made within four (4) hours of the beginning of the scheduled pickup window or once the Hauler is marked “on the way” will incur a cancellation fee equal to 25% of the job total.
- Hauler No-Show. Failure to show for scheduled Hauling Services within one (1) hour of the scheduled pickup window without cancelling will be considered a “Hauler No-Show,” and Hauler will incur a fee equal to 100% of the job total. Multiple Hauler No-Shows may result in temporary suspension or permanent removal from the Platform, in EasyGig’s sole discretion.
EasyGig reserves the right to set off cancellation fees from any amounts otherwise payable to the Hauler.
Cancellation Due to Possessor Fault
Haulers may refuse to complete Hauling Services if the Hauler reasonably believes the items are not eligible for Hauling Services or otherwise cannot be safely or legally transported, or transported without excessive expense, or if the items are not accessible for pickup in accordance with the Terms (“Possessor Fault”). Hauler will not be charged a cancellation fee in such cases, provided that Hauler notifies EasyGig in the Platform and/or at contact@easygigjunk.com to document the Possessor No-Show. Additionally, in such instances, the Possessor will incur a cancellation fee of 100% of the job total.
Communication Requirement
For any cancellation, Haulers and Possessors should update the scheduled Hauling Services in the Platform and/or contact EasyGig customer support at contact@easygigjunk.com as soon as possible. Proper communication can help prevent further penalties.
Possessor Protection
Possessors will never be charged for a Hauler-initiated cancellation, other than cancellations due to Possessor Fault. EasyGig will issue a full refund of any amounts prepaid for such Hauling Services, and Possessor may re-list the cancelled Hauling Services on the Platform.
