Overview 

It is the policy of EasyGig to conduct a background check for all Haulers.  Haulers work as independent contractors.

Purpose

The purpose is to reduce the risk of fraud or other criminal activity to EasyGig and its customers and ensure the safety of its customers given that the Haulers will go to customers’ places of residence and/or places of business.

Process

Once the Hauler registers with the Platform, the hauler will be directed to Checkr Inc. for a background check.

EasyGig has engaged Checkr, Inc. to obtain a consumer report and/or investigative consumer report, for the purpose of a Hauler working as an independent contractor. Checkr Inc. will provide a background investigation as a pre-condition of the Hauler’s engagement with EasyGig and in compliance with applicable law.  EasyGig may obtain information about the Hauler from a third party consumer reporting agency for purposes of engagement as an independent contractor. Thus, the Hauler may be the subject of a “consumer report” which may include information about the Hauler’s character, general reputation, personal characteristics, and/or mode of living. These reports may contain information regarding the Hauler’s criminal history, motor vehicle records (“driving records”), or other background checks.  The Hauler has the right, upon written request made within a reasonable time, to request whether a consumer report has run about them and to request a copy of the Hauler’s report. These searches will be conducted by Checker, Inc., One Montgomery Street, Suite 2400, San Francisco, CA 94104, (844) 824-3257.

If a Hauler refuses to consent to a background check, EasyGig reserves the right not to enter into any independent contracting or other relationship with Hauler.
